A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
Dear friends, welcome to advice4diabetes.com. By creating this web site I was inspired by my friends and my family who believe me, support and encourage in my journey. Without my friends, it will be impossible to create this website.

New technology to measure blood sugar
Google contact lenses for measuring blood sugar
Google developed a chip for measuring blood glucose in the tears. The chip is located between two thin layers of the lens. One of the fascinated features is painless blood sugar measuring.
This discovery is breaking ice in technological development of the wireless glucose monitoring system. It supposed to check blood sugar every second. This type of contact lenses is not approved by FDA yet. At the moment no data is available about blood sugar measurement accuracy.
The open questions are:
- Is contact lens able to pick up blood glucose reading with the person who experience dry eye's symptoms.
- How accurate lens measurement data is by comparing with real blood-
- Can a person with diabetes wear these lenses for 24 hours? Can you sleep with them?
- Can the person with 20/20 vision wear these lenses?
I admire hard work of the Google engineering to develop such a gadget. I’m sure it will not replace routine check of blood sugar by using regular glucose meters. Hopefully, in near future, we’ll be able to use super technological devices to prevent hypoglycemia episodes. This is great innovation in nanotechnology science.
